Nordon’s Sustainability Values
Sustainability is not just a Nordon motto - it’s our everyday way of business. As a longtime member of the Fox Valley and greater Northeast Wisconsin communities, generations of Nordon employees have watched and experienced the growth and prosperity of the region, while enjoying its many rich, natural resources. Every action has the potential to impact our environment, therefore, sustainability is the right path to follow – to give back – ensuring that these same resources are available for future generations to grow, to prosper and to experience.
To do our part, Nordon has been recycling aluminum and paper products, including corrugated materials, for more than 20 years. Whenever possible, we order blanket-wrapped furniture, and for our customers, they’ll be proud to know that we offer a host of environmentally-friendly furniture solutions, including recycled wood products, PVC-free laminates and carpet manufactured without harmful chemicals.
Partnering with our Clients
Nordon stands knowledgeable and equipped to help our clients achieve their own sustainability goals and participate in a variety of environmental certification programs. We partner with our clients from the very beginning of a project to evaluate their priorities and goals, and educate them about sustainability options and benefits that fit within their budget and project framework.
Through manufacturer training and continuing education seminars, Nordon employees remain up-to-date and well-informed about the latest sustainability trends and building certification programs and requirements. All of our sales and design team members are actively pursuing certification.
Nordon continuously – and proactively – addresses our client’s wide-range of environmental and sustainability certification goals. We are proud to be the first regional supplier to offer a fully-integrated model for sustainable design, including an interior under floor HVAC system, modular and re-usable wall systems and environmentally-friendly office furniture, made from recycled materials and fabrics. We also offer Greengaurd, low emission certified, and SCS Indoor Air Quality certified products that can contribute to LEED-CI and LEED-NC credits.
In addition, Nordon’s professional service team members can creatively incorporate existing furniture into the new design scheme, including reconfiguring moveable wall units and reupholstering chairs using fresh, new fabrics. The design team also maximizes the use of natural light to save on energy and associated costs.
Nordon is a member of the United States Green Building Council, while our largest manufacturer, Haworth, maintains sustainability as a top, corporate value and priority.
